I cherish the memories I have from working with John at GPU Nuclear. He and I worked on the TMI Fuel Contract, and his attention to miniscule detail (grammar, spacing, punctuation) on a 65 page contract (single spaced) drove me crazy! But he was always right, so I appreciated it. He was such a down to earth, quiet yet fun person. I travelled with him a few times, and one time I was speaking with a person at the reception desk of a hotel who was giving us a hard time with our reservations for some reason. I leaned over the desk, nodded in John's direction and whispered "you really don't want to disappoint DOCTOR LUOMA now, do you??? They immediately cleared the problem. John had been reading some pamphlet or something nearby and never heard the conversation.
He was a very special person, and I'll never forget him.
