Louis Nicholas Ragin, affectionately known to family and loved ones as Junior, 62 years old, of the Chelsea section of Manhattan, passed away suddenly on August 18, 2021, in his home. Funeral Service & Visitation will be held at 1284 Broad St, Bloomfield, NJ 07003 on Thursday, August 26, 2021, from 3 pm to 7 pm at Halpin-Bitecola Brookdale Funeral & Cremation Services LLC will be handling the funeral arrangements. Louis was born in Newark, NJ to Louis Ragin of Summerton, SC, and Lena Ragin (Johnson) of Augusta, GA on May 26, 1959, in Newark, NJ at Beth Israel Hospital. He went to Peshine Ave, Elementary School, and graduated Weequahic High School, class of 1977. He went on to study Liberal Arts at Rutgers. He later worked as a Senior Chemist for Cookson Pigments. He enjoyed life, his family and adored his grandchildren. As he lived in the city of New York, he spent time going to concerts all over the city and loved sharing music playlists on Spotify. He enjoyed dancing, laughing, and having a good time. His greatest joy was walking his daughter Trellice down the aisle. He loved healthy debating and making jokes. He was loved by many and will be missed by all. Louis is survived by his spouse: Felecia L. Ragin (Gwaltney) of Orange, NJ, his best friend, and partner for over 25 years Nadine Durrell. His two daughters: Lena N. Ragin and Trellice K. Frazier (Ragin) and son-in-law Omari S. Frazier. His brother: Gary Ragin; Five grandchildren: (Lena) Joseph J. Brown, Justin L.W. Guyton, Kayla A. Guyton. (Trellice) Christian X. Johnson, Chloe K. Frazier, and host of other relatives. He is preceded in death by his parents, Louis & Lena Ragin. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to all those who called, said a prayer, sent a card, and came by to say goodbye to “Junior”.
