Obituary of Timothy Joseph Kane

Timothy Joseph Kane, a longtime resident and former Councilman of Bloomfield, passed away suddenly on July 16th, 2020. He was 74 years old. Tim leaves behind his loving wife Carol; two daughters, Christina Healy (John) and Michelle Daly (James); a brother, Michael Kane; and two grandchildren, Liam and Kellan Daly. He also leaves behind his many nieces and nephews as well as his four goddaughters. He was predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Florence Kane, and a brother Joseph Kane. Tim had a long career at Bell Atlantic (Verizon) and the Township of Bloomfield. He was a parishioner and volunteer at St Thomas and a member of the Bloomfield Emergency Squad Board of Trustees, St. Valentine’s Church Athletic Club and Bloomfield Center Alliance. He was also a former Bloomfield Irishman of the Day. Tim enjoyed golfing and bowling with his buddies. Friends and family may visit on Sunday, July19th from 4-8 pm, at Halpin-Bitecola Brookdale Funeral Home. A funeral mass will be held at 9:30 am on Monday, July 20th, at St Thomas the Apostle Church in Bloomfield. Entombment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in East Hanover, NJ. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in Timothy’s name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105.
