Thomas Maxwell King It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of Thomas Maxwell King who passed away on June 9, 2020. Tom was born on October 23, 1939 in Jersey City and was raised in Newark, N.J. As an adult he resided in New York City and more recently in Bloomfield, N.J. Tom attended Xavier High School and was a proud graduate of the University of Notre Dame where he majored in Civil Engineering. Subsequently he earned his Master’s degree in Business Administration from Seton Hall University. Tom served his country proudly from 1963 - 1969 in the Army Corp of Engineers and continued his outstanding service while employed at the Pentagon in Washington DC. During his varied career he worked for a big eight accounting firm and also as a management consultant for many years. Tom was a kind, stately gentleman and he was devoted to all he knew but most particularly to his beloved mother, Catherine Rafferty King with whom he is no doubt rejoicing at their reunion in Heaven. Tom was devoutly religious and a generous donor to the church. He was an active member of St. Thomas the Apostle in Bloomfield, NJ. For those who were lucky enough to know Tom, know that he always had a smile on his face, a glint in his eye and a kind word for all he met. Tom will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
