I'll never understand it, but my family and I will always remember what a tremendous great Uncle Francis had, along with his loving family. It's really touching to see how many people he and Auntie Joyce had an impact on, but not surprising. What a testimony. Prayers for Joyce and the whole family. <3, Sharon

Francis was an inspiration to many RBS students who competed for Rutgers Newark in the College Fed Challenge. He passed his energy and excitement about financial markets and monetary policy on to them. As advisor to the Fed Challenge team, I will miss the help, guidance and inspiration that Francis provided. I met Francis at Oakview school back when Jonathan and my daughter were in Mrs. Gibbs class for Dads and Donuts day.
We realized at that point that we worked at the same company. A few years later Francis met me at an Oakview basketball night and asked me to join his team to deliver a new application.
I transferred to his department and he became my mentor and taught me everything I needed to know about the mortgage business and I currently am still in that role after 16 years.
After he left wall St I would see him at the local IHOP, the bagel store or walking my dog through the neighborhood
He will be missed.
My condolences to Francis’ family and friends he was such a nice person.

I want to thank Uncle Francis for being my friend/mentor during the short time I've known and hung out with him. I didn't get to know him as well as I'd like and would have loved to eat more of his cooking and listen to his stories. One of his funniest comments he made to me was that I look like I can be the female star in a martial arts show. I'll sure miss smiley nature, his humor, and his life advice. He was fun to be around and definitely the life at the party.
Thanks for being amazing, Uncle Francis.

I will remember Francis as a very dear brother in Christ. A very helpful man who would reach out and offer his time, wisdom and resources very generously. During the Asian Financial Crisis of 1998, Francis would call me up to see how I was coping. He would give me some financial advice and then we would pray together. I remember those times with fondness. Then about 8 years ago, he came back to visit us in Indonesia. At that time my daughter was due to study at Parsons in NYC. He and Joyce offered and helped my daughter to settle down in NYC. A very generous and loving family. We will missed you, brother. Looking forward to hearing the Lord saying to Francis "Well done my good and faithful servant, enter into the joy of your master".

Francis was very funny. Once we were at Suichin's house for dinner. He spoke about a smelly fruit that he loved. I don't recall the name. He had the whole room laughing to the brink of tears. It was a wonderful time. He is also a good cook. He brought an awesome dish for our international Christmas party. We appreciated his warm humor. He will be missed, but love will not cease, it will live on in our memories.

To Joyce and the Ng Family, my sincerest condolences. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
Francis, it feels like just the other day when we would meet in Rutgers Business School and flowing with so many good and grandeur ideas. Francis, you've been the most genuine person I've ever met. No words can describe how grateful I am for meeting you and inspiring me, especially towards God. It wasn't just thoughts, ideas, countless hours of brainstorming in meetings, nor funny jokes that you have offered to us in Rutgers. You've also offered friendship, sound advice, and most of all, offered a hand for me to come back to Him. Glory to God for sending one of his angels, for he is good, to have shown his mercy through Francis as his memory endures with us forever.

My dear friend, it feels like only a short while ago that we last laughed after church in Brookdale. You always had a big smile on your face and had an infectious laugh. I remember that first church picnic that I tasted your gourmet chicken on a stick. It was so good that I tried, without success, to obtain your secret recipe. As a compromise, your family supplied enough to serve my guests at my party ❤❤. I remember our conversations about money, politics, campaign finance, and your students. I especially remember how passionately you spoke about your family and Joyce. I'm sorry that I have been so distant over the last few years. I miss you. Farewell my dear friend.

Professor NG was one of my most memorable teach during my undergraduate study. His project, stock pitch, was the most helpful one and inspired my interest in capital markets. His class was passionate, interesting and challenging. He was also very approachable when we have questions, even those outside of the realm of finance, say, autopilot. When I revisit Rutgers after graduation, he was also kind and encouraging. Really sorry to hear this. Rest in Peace.

Dearest Uncle Francis,
Thank you for always giving sound advice and never holding back haha. You imparted your financial knowledge and life lessons that I will cherish and apply it to my own family. Always full of laughter and jokes, you're truly one of a kind! Looking back, I can only think of all the great memories we shared. The last I saw you was the summer of 2017 in Florida. You showed us the best beaches and food down there, and how can I forget the water gun fights in the pool. I find comfort knowing that you are in the Lord's presence and that we will surely meet again someday. I love you Uncle Francis...
My sincere condolences to Aunty Joyce, Eric (Emily), Lianne, John, Gabe and the rest of the Ng family. My thoughts and prayers go out to you all.

Little Things about Francis
He is the kindest guy I have ever met.
The first time I heard his name is in a classroom in Bloomfield in 2015. After knowing my last name is Wu, my English professor Joyce Ng told me basically we are a family and I could be her child since Wu’s are Ng’s children. Then, I got to know her husband, Francis, a wise and kind Hong Kong professor. The next day, I bumped into Joyce on my way back from the grocery store. She was talking on the phone and waiting for his husband to pick her up. That’s the second time for me to know him(but still not in person).
The first time I met Francis in person, was a summer day in 2018. Joyce and Francis are summer to me. They are shining and warm people with full of love. After I got off the train, Joyce gave me a big hug, then, here I met Francis. He looked smart and nice, giving me a big hug and driving me to a delicious dim sum place. The couple is so sweet and cute, and they are always laughing when talking to each other. I can feel the love between them, vivid love. Francis and Joyce’s daughter and her boyfriend joined us for dim sum. On our way back, Francis and Joyce shared lots of stories with me and invited me to stay and have lobster dinner with them and their friends. We talked about delicious pistachios ice cream and Crazy Rich Asian during the dinner. It’s a lovely night and I stayed with the happy family and their cat and dog.
The second and the last time I met Francis, was a spring day in 2019. Joyce and Francis are also like spring to me, flourishing and peaceful. We went to the same dim sum place, and we talked about the guy I was seeing that time. We laughed a lot and I will remember that time in Bloomfield forever.
Rest in peace Francis. I will remember you as the sunshine in Bloomfield.

Have fond memories of my late brother, Francis Ng. When he was young, his nickname is “Ma lai zhi” in Cantonese, meaning skinny dark guy as he was very skinny, tall and well tanned as he played volleyball and basketball under the hot sun in Kuala Lumpur. During weekends, he would ask my sister, Rachel (Ping) to boil Chinese desert soup (tong sui) while he would buy some Chinese fried croquette at Petaling Street to break the monotony of having rice everyday.
I recalled an incident when he visited Malaysia with Joyce, Mary Ann and husband. We were rushing to catch a train to Crab Island in Klang, Malaysia. I was the first to rush down to the train platform followed by my brother and the rest of them. We just missed the train by seconds and when he saw the train door shut in front of us, he was shouting loudly, but within seconds, the train door opened miraculously and Francis and I looked in shock and both of us could not believe our eyes, and all of us rushed in and we could not stop laughing in the train.
I thank God for my brother who shared the gospel to my late mother and she accepted Jesus Christ as her personal savior. My brother bought her a Chinese Bible and mum as amazed at the power of God after reading on God’s creation from the book of Genesis.
He speaks directly and truthfully without fear nor favour. You have lived your life to the fullest. You have fought the good fight, finished the race and kept the faith (2 Tim 4: 7). I will miss you dearly, but comforted that you are in a better place with Christ. My dear brother, till we meet at heaven’s shore in the presence of our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.
My prayers for Joyce and family to be strong and love you all.

Francis is the third sibling, in the family of seven. He is the eldest son in the family. Unlike other children he excels in his academic studies. For this he is my mum's favorite son. He told me he wanted to go to VI school in Kuala Lumpur when he was young in age. Our parents were not rich, just manageable income with no knowledge of English. We were thrift in our spending . He was willing to excel and discipline in his studies. From a no name primary to secondary school he managed to get to the Pre-university VI the top school in KL. His goal achieved.
From there he went to England and USA to pursues his studies and later married to Joyce and settled in USA. I am happy as a sister to see my brother working as a professor in Rugters University to impart knowledge and skills to his students on finance. To me this is a fulfilling and a blessing job he contributes to his students. I am thankful to God for this.
Francis is a caring brother. Once a while he would check on us to see how we are doing in Malaysia.
Francis is also a generous brother - a giver. I stay with him in USA for a time to pursue Biblical studies. One time I needed money for tuition and he provided after he got his bonus despite he is tight in his income to provide for his family. I was thankful for his good deeds to me.
The thought of Francis will be a thought for his smile. A pleasant face with always a welcoming smile.
I miss Francis (as his sister) his childhood memories will always be with me and also memories as a good father of his family.
I'm thankful to God that Francis is born to our family - a wonderful brother is he.
My condolences to Joyce and family is to be strong, united and be strengthen in God . Then Francis will rest in peace. He will return home to his Papa the creator of all life.

We wish to express our deepest heartfelt condolences to Joyce and her four children.
Francis is my eldest brother, third in position and I am his youngest brother, the sixth out of seven. When I was in middle school, he had already left for the UK to pursue his undergraduate studies, then continue into his post-graduate studies and followed by his doctoral in the USA. Through his hard work and determination to excel in his academics, I was inspired to do the same. Francis had been away from home for so many years, as a result, we did not grow up together. However, we were able to rekindle and bond in later years.
During the summer of 1982, I managed to visit him in NJ from Oregon and he took me around the Big Apple. He was generous enough to lend me his one and only beaten up station wagon to visit Boston and to northern east coast states. In 1984, our parents came to visit him and they all came over to visit me in San Francisco. I showed them around from San Francisco to Yosemite National Park to Los Angeles. One night in 1985, I received a call from Francis and he informed me that I was the last one among the siblings that had yet to know Christ. He challenged me that within 30 days I will come to know the Lord. Two weeks passed, suddenly a total stranger approached me and invited me to his Full Gospel Filipino Church in SF. Usually I carry 101 excuse cards but I couldn't even draw one out. Strangely, I don't even know why I said "Yes", and then he said, “I’ll pick you up at 8:30 am on Sunday”. Francis must have been praying very hard for me to be saved. Spiritually, he was my mentor and a good role model in my Christian walk.
When we immigrated to Toronto, Canada in 2007, he had visited us with his family a couple of times. Together we have done two camping trips and road trips to Ottawa, Montreal and Thousand Islands. In summer 2014, my family drove down to attend his oldest son’s wedding. Summer 2017 Francis invited us to his summer house in Boca Raton, Florida. Every day we explored different beaches from West Palm Beach to Del Ray Beach until the South Beach of Miami. He bought some kites so we could fly them high like kids. My family enjoyed his company with food, jokes, and laughter all the way. He was very open, fun, generous and down to earth as I recalled.
End of March 2020, Francis called me to find out how is our Ontario's lockdown situation. I didn't expect that would be our last conversation. A week later, Joyce informed us to pray for Francis as he has been hospitalized. Immediately, I round up my entire family corporately onto our knees to intercede and supplication a couple of times daily. We kept pressing on without wavering our faith despite poor prognosis updates. Then one night I received a dream and I saw Joyce and her children all dress in black standing beside a casket at a funeral home. Despite this dream, we love Francis so much that we didn't want to accept him to go so young and soon. A few days later, after much fasting and spiritual warfare, suddenly, I received a tremendous calmness and peace in my heart. I thought that this must be a calm assurance of a spiritual breakthrough in healing/recovery. At the eleventh hour, we received Joyce's message that Francis had gone to be with the Lord Jesus, we broke down and couldn't accept it. Then the calmness and peace fell upon my heart once again. Then only I understood that this calm assurance and peace was to prepare my heart and to be steadfast for his departure. Finally, we respected the Lord's decision and His sovereignty is unquestionable. "And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose". Romans 8:28. My family still miss you very much and cherish all the wonderful laughter and fruitful times spend together. To my dear sister-in-law Joyce and Eric, Lianne, Jonathan, and Gabriel, may the peace of God that passes all understanding comfort you all. You will all be in our prayers. Be strong and courageous.
Love, Alfred (Kim Ming) Ng, the youngest brother, wife Thulasi, children; Zuriel, Jerusha, Jevera, and Gavra.

Uncle Francis, I will miss you a great deal and your amazing sense of humor.
Every time I saw you at a holiday or family event, you always asked me for an update on my relationship status, trying to encourage and motivate me. You made me laugh and smile each time.
The last time I saw you, you taught me about Value Asset Theory (I hope this is the right term!) and how if I just collected more assets, like a new house, I will definitely raise my value in the market and get a great girlfriend/wife. I was dying laughing when you told me this. I loved how you bridged your deep wisdom of economics to your deep wisdom of love and relationships. Obviously, you're a master because you married Auntie Joyce and raised such a beautiful and loving family.
As a teacher, I respect immensely, and I know you were one hell of a professor who put in the time and dedication to make all of his students great.
You and your entire family have been in my thoughts and prayers. I know you will be looking down at me, holding me accountable in my continuing dating/relationship pursuits. I hope, one day soon, I make you proud.
I miss and love you.

Any holiday or celebration won't be the same without you.
You will be missed so much. We are so grateful for having known you and for being a part of our family.
It was a privilege to travel with you and Joyce to Southeast Asia to see Kuala Lumpur and where you grew up.
We take comfort knowing that you are with God, that you are loved, and that you will be forever in our hearts.
We are praying for Joyce and the family that God strengthen and help them during this difficult time.

I know I’ll miss my Uncle Francis so much, and I know that all his family and friends will miss him dearly. He was much loved by everyone and everyone that knew him only had nice things to say about him. Christianity was a big part of his life and I know that his faith was a major part of the lovely person he was. Today I lost my Uncle but Heaven gained an Angel! His body has departed from us but his memory will live on. Our thoughts are with you Aunt Joyce and the Family. Let his soul Rest In Peace. Blessings from James

Francis Ng was by far the friendliest professor. His 3-min shower claim while us kids stood like zombies under the shower head was hilarious. He once said "well done my good and faithful servant" in class which I caught onto being raised protestant and we later discussed it. "Do you know the parable?", he had asked. Brought up my Sunday school memories.
He was notorious for not responding to texts but I was amazed when he did text me back just one class before he didn't show up. "Well done", he had said fittingly.
RIP professor, you will be missed!

You were one of the best professor I had, although I got to know you only for few days in person since we were taking class from home. Still, you managed to explain everything so well and the way you always said “kapish” meaning understand at the end of lecture, it truly shows that you always wanted every student of yours to fully understand all the concepts. I am so heartbroken when I heard this news but god also wants good souls to be there with him. My prayers are there with the family. Hope you are happy where-ever you are professor. We will miss you always.

Will sorely miss Francis. We had interests far beyond academics, which honestly was of least interest to us. Him being a Malaysian and me being a lover of Malaysian food we often discussed where to get the best Roti Canai from, or the differences of coffee with or without chicory, or the subtle differences of Indonesian Beef Rendang v Malaysian Beef Rendang. Being a Malaysian, he reluctantly did admit that Indonesian Rendang was better. We also enjoyed smoking cigars while watching a La Liga soccer match at the Monte Cristo bar at J&R Cigars on Rt 10 in NJ followed by dinner at Penang.
Will miss you dear Francis. Now where am I going to find a companion to enjoy the so many wonderful things we did together. That would truly be a tall order.

Francis was a first generation Malaysian Christian, just an ordinary man, but became extraordinary, when he was transformed by his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He had an extraordinary big heart, big enough to love His God with all of it, and then some left over to love his wife, Joyce and children passionately, his relatives, his neighbors and his friends from all over the world. He was a chef extraordinaire, cooking up a storm for 20 people or more, and still remaining the 'coolest' one in the kitchen. He showed us how an ordinary Christian, can live his life openly without shame or fear, because " this is the power of Christ in Him. He had no guilt in life, nor fear in death.. from life's first cry to his final breath, Jesus commanded his destiny".
We will meet again Francis,

Uncle Francis was such a loving person. He always loved being the host and he showed his Love by feeding us! He loved to cook for the family and for everyone to feel welcomed. He was a genuine person who loved his family and friends. When we visited him, he took the time to talk money and investments with my husband and to teach him a little about finance. Here always wanted the best for everyone. He will truly be missed by all those who knew him. While we weep here on earth, I know that Francis is rejoicing in heaven with Jesus and no doubt he'll have a meal prepared for us when we join him there.
