Obituary of Marilyn E. Simmons
Marilyn E. Simmons passed away on Thursday, November 7, 2019 after a short illness. She was 75.
Born in Brooklyn to the late William and Ruth (Parker) Davis, she was a resident of Belleville for many years.
Marilyn was a home health aide for the Bragg Nursing Service in Brooklyn, and had previously served as an educator for the Foundation Preparatory School at the Brookdale Christian School in Bloomfield.
Survivors include her husband of 34 years, Eugene; three sons, Reginald Jones, Christopher Jones (Josefina Black-Burn), and Dereck Jones (Daisy); a brother Lester Parker; a sister Marie Peele; twelve grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Arrangements are by the Halpin Bitecola Brookdale Funeral Home, 1284 Broad Street, Bloomfield, NJ 07003 (973) 338-5900.
Visitation will be at the funeral home on Saturday, November 9, 2019 from 3:00 – 6:00 PM. A Celebration of Life service will be at 6:00 PM at the funeral home. Interment will be private.
