Obituary of Margaret King
Margaret “Peggy” King, passed away on June 6, 2019. She was 83.
Peggy was predeceased by her parents Joseph and Nancy McMahon, and her brother Peter. She leaves behind, her husband John Daniel King Jr.; her three sons, John and his wife Joyce, James and his wife Francine, and Jeffrey and his husband Scott; her grandchildren Katelyn, Jimmy, and Kimberly, and a brother-in-law, Thomas Maxwell King.
Peggy worked as payroll clerk for St. Barnabas Medical Center. She was a past president of the Hazel Avenue Elementary School PTA, in W. Orange, she belonged to The Rosary Society at Our Lady of the Valley, in Orange, and more recently was the resident ambassador at the Chelsea Assisted Living Facility in Toms River.
In her Prime Peggy was very active and involved in many things. She enjoyed knitting and ceramics, loved and cared for all types of animals, with a special soft spot for dogs. She was a wonderful homemaker and hostess; throughout the neighborhood it was well known the door was always open at the King's house for a quick drink or snack.
Friends and family may visit on Sunday, June 9th from 4-8pm, and Monday June 10th from 9-10am , at Halpin-Bitecola Brookdale Funeral Home in Bloomfield. Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 10th, at 10am, at the funeral home. Interment to follow at Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Montclair.
